“Archery Associated of J&K came into operation in 1989 for promoting archery in Jammu and Kashmir but was ignored by previous governments,” he claimed.
Jugal said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the promotion of games and sports has been strongly encouraged and the morale of players has been boosted. “This historic archery championship will take place in three rounds Recurve, Compound and Indian Round and more than 1000 players will take part in this championship with the staff and the coaches.”
In the recurve category, Deepika Kumari-Padma Shri, Arjuna Awardee and Olympian, Antanu Das Arjuna Awardee and Olympian, Tarundeep Rai Padamshree, Arjuna Awardee and Olympian, Jayant Taluk Dar Arjuna Awardee and Parveen Jadhav Olympian and in the compound category, Abhishek Verma Arjuna Awardee, Asian Games medalist Aman Saini, Laureate Rajat Chauhan Arjuna and Para-Olympian Rakesh Kumar will also participate in this championship, he informed.
