Carnival Cruise Line’s 24th ship joins the fleet

Carnival Cruise Line brought its 24th ship into the fleet this week when the Costa Luminosa transferred from sister cruise line Costa Cruises.

Costa Luminosa will now go into drydock and transform into Costa Luminosa. The cruise ship will sail its first cruise under Carnival Cruise Line on November 6, 2022, departing from Brisbane, Australia.

“Carnival Luminosa is such an added bonus to our Fun Ship family with its unique itineraries and onboard specialties,” said Christine Duffy, President of Carnival Cruise Line. “Combining favorites from our fleet and wonderful crew with some of Luminosa’s fun features, this ship is sure to feel like home to our guests in no time.”

Arriving in Australia in just two months, Carnival Luminosa will operate a variety of seasonal cruises from Brisbane from November 6, 2022 to April 13, 2023. After one season in Australia, the ship will reposition for seasonal service from Seattle to Alaska in next May, including some exotic and never-before-seen carnival destinations.
