Container ship owner caught fire off Vietnamese coast with help | Society

Ba Ria-Vung Tau (VNA) – CMA CGM Vietnam JSC, owner of Container ship APL CAIROthanked relevant agencies and firefighters in the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau for quickly extinguishing a fire on the Singapore-flagged vessel off the coast of the province on March 8.

In a letter to the Provincial People’s Committee and the Ministry of Transport of Vietnam, the company highlighted the high efficiency of emergency response in seaports, mobilization of vehicles and firefighting capacity of relevant agencies and firefighters of Ba Ria-Vung Tau.

Quickly extinguishing the fire reduced casualties, ensured the safety of the ship and its crew and avoided causing environmental damage, the company wrote in the letter.

It was one of the remarkable achievements of Ba Ria-Vung Tau Port in particular and Vietnamese waters in general, helping shipping activities to Vietnamese seaports become safer, more trustworthy and more attractive to investors.

On the morning of March 8, a fire broke out on the container ship APL CAIRO, measuring 207 m long and 29.8 m wide, which was en route from Cat Lai port in Ho Chi Minh City to Hong Kong./ .
