Disney Cruise Lines is adding a sixth ship to its fleet, which was announced Sunday at Expo D23. The newest ship will be called Treasure, and the boat will be filled with Disney characters looking for an adventure. In fact, adventure is the general theme of the whole ship.
“At the heart of every adventure is treasure, and we look forward to you creating memories aboard this spectacular ship,” said Josh D’Amaro, president of Disney Parks Experiences and Products. in a press release.
The design of the ship’s Great Hall is inspired by Aladdin, and the atrium character statue depicts Aladdin, Jasmine, and Magic Carpet. The ship will be ready in 2024, according to Disney. It will leave after Disney Wish, which is due to set sail in July 2023.
In addition to Disney Treasure, Cruise Line is adding a second Bahamas destination on the island of Eleuthera. At Lighthouse Point, the new destination will represent the culture and natural beauty of the Bahamas. There will be beaches, leisure centers, restaurants, a cultural center and shops. Most excitingly, Disney has pledged to only develop 20% of the property and donate 190 acres of land to the Bahamian government.
