Disney Magic cruise ship returns to Port of Dover again

A huge Disney cruise liner is back in Kent this morning.

Disney Magic, which spent 15 months in Dover at the height of the pandemic, is once again docked at the city’s port.

The imposing ship, which has 11 decks, arrived shortly after 4am today.

Becoming a staple in 2020 and 2021, the luxury liner received a county start last year as it set sail around the world.

He returned to Kent last month after a seven-day trip from Barcelona, ​​returning to his familiar spot in the cruise terminal.

The huge ship – which has a giant Goofy hanging from the stern – should catch the eye of those waiting in the expected queues at the port this weekend.

Large silhouettes of Mickey Mouse are painted on the ship’s red funnels and the ship’s horn blasts the well-known tune from Pinocchio, When You Wish Upon a Star.

When operational, it carries up to 2,700 passengers.

He arrived in Kent in the early hours of the morning after traveling recently from stops in Orkney, Scotland and Reykjavik, Iceland.

The ship is registered at the port of Nassau in the Bahamas, and the interior is in Art Deco style.

Disney Magic was the first cruise ship launched by the world famous company in the late 90s.

It recently announced that traditional character greetings will return to all five cruise ships in its fleet.
