Holland America Cruise Ship restarts operations in Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Holland America Line Noordam The cruise ship has restarted guest operations from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The ship has been on hiatus for more than two years since industry-wide suspensions began in 2020.

Cruise ship Noordam resumes service

It has been more than two years since the cruise line Noordam the ship was sailing with guests on board, and now it is finally back in service. The Holland America cruise ship resumed guest operations on April 24 at Port Everglades Florida.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held in the terminal to open boarding and welcome guests on board. The ceremony took place in the presence of the captain of the ship, senior officers and crew members waving the flag.

We are delighted to welcome guests back on board Noordam as we continue the pace of bringing our 11 vessels back into service by June,said Gus Antorcha, president of Holland America Line.With each relaunch, we are able to bring more of our team members back on board and into the Holland America Line family. They were waiting for this day to welcome our guests and resume the cruise.

by Noordam the first return sailing is a 21-day Panama Cana; transit to Vancouver, Canada. The trip will include popular stops such as Cartagena, Panama City, Puerto Vallarta, Cabo San Lucas and even Victoria BC. The ship will arrive at its new homeport in Vancouver on May 15, 2022.

The Holland America cruise ship will spend the summer sailing in Alaska offering seven days between Vancouver and Whittier, Alaska. Deals also include a one-time 14-day round trip with Great Explorer from Vancouver in September.

Noordam will also offer longer cruises that combine a three-, four-, or seven-day trip, allowing for land exploration of Denali National Park.

Noordam will conclude its season in Alaska in October 2022 with a 34-day Pacific Ocean crossing from San Diego, California to Sydney, Australia.

The Holland America cruise ship will circumnavigate Australia with a 35-day voyage, including 15 stopovers. The ship will offer 12- to 15-day round-trip cruises from Sydney, including visits to New Zealand until March 2023.

Three more Holland America ships will be returned to service

The cruise line has gradually resumed ship-by-ship cruise operations since July 2021. So far, six Holland America cruise ships have resumed service, including Eurodam, Koningsdam, New Amsterdam, New Statendam, Rotterdam and Zuiderdam. The city of Rotterdam currently charters Volendam.

By mid-June 2022, the entire fleet will be back at sea, with osterdam resumed on May 8 in Trieste, Zaandam leaving on May 12 from Fort Lauderdale, and Westerdam will be the last ship to resume on June 12 from Seattle.
