A dancer from the CRUISE ship has revealed she fell in love with a worker on deck, sparking a seven-year long-distance relationship.
Lake Kayley Stevens was a dancer on a luxury boat when she met her partner John.
Sharing their romance on TikTok, Kayley said the “cruise ship beers” led them to make the relationship work despite sometimes working across each other’s worlds.
She explained, “In 2014, I was working as a dancer on a cruise ship.
“I met this handsome, nice officer in the crew bar. He was Scottish, I was American.
“We fell in love with each other and decided to try long distance. He visited me at all my dance jobs around the world and I visited him countless times on the boat.
“We traveled everywhere together and realized that no distance would separate us.”
Then, in 2019, his beautiful cruise ship popped the question.
The couple’s dream wedding was postponed twice due to Covid, but they still managed to elope during lockdown and celebrated with loved ones at a later date.
Kayley has since obtained her UK visa and moved to Scotland, and the couple welcomed their first child into the world in January.
Their sweet love story has given social media users hope to find their soul mate and has been viewed over 75,000 times.
One of them raved: “Beautiful story that reminds me of all that is good in the world.”
Another wrote: “Stories like this give me so much hope that true love exists and finds you at the perfect time.”
A third said: “It’s so romantic!!”
Meanwhile, a fourth added: “Great story. Some people are really meant to be together as soul mates.”
