Ship sail

The Norwegian ship Statsraad Lehmkuhl will visit Singapore as part of the One Ocean expedition

During her twenty-month voyage “One Ocean Expedition”, the Norwegian tall ship Statsraad Lehmkuhl will arrive in Singapore on October 28, 2022.

The expedition is an integral part of the United Nations Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development and involves circumnavigating the globe to create knowledge and awareness about the crucial role of the ocean for sustainable development.

The Norwegian Embassy in Singapore informs that Innovation Norway will organize a 5-day science workshop for students and lectures on board the Statsraad Lehmkuhl as part of the Norway-Singapore Science Week. The workshop will address ocean sustainability topics, while Team Norway (Innovation Norway and the Norwegian Business Association in Singapore) and their stakeholders will organize onboard events and meetings.

Statsraad Lehmkuhl has been sailing under the Norwegian flag since 1923 and is one of the largest and oldest square riggers in the world still to sail. During her circumnavigation, the ship was converted into a floating university serving as a research and sailing training vessel combined with data collection.
