The largest private residential ship on the planet has just arrived in Killybegs!

‘The World’ is home to just 165 luxury residences of the ‘uber-rich’ and docked in the South West Port of Donegal earlier this morning.

He will spend the night there while his wealthy residents explore the area.

In 2020, a penthouse apartment on the ship went on the market for a whopping $20 million!

It has been described as one of the most unusual neighborhoods in the world and the largest private luxury residential cruise ship at sea.

Most owners must have at least $10 million in assets and undergo background checks.

They spend a total of three to six months on board, dividing their time between the timeshare cruiser and their other land homes elsewhere, depending on work and family commitments and the voyage itinerary.

Some, however, stay most of the year and, with six onboard restaurants, six bars and lounges, a fitness center, swimming pools, a spa, a full-size tennis court, putting greens, a golf simulator, library, cinema, games rooms, caterer, medical center, florist and chapel.

Each apartment has its own private veranda and the three-bed version (below) has an en-suite bathroom and kitchen.

The Norwegian-built yacht was launched in 2002 with 165 apartments, ranging from studios to three beds, and circumnavigates the globe every two to three years with an average occupancy at any one time of between 150 and 200 residents and 280 staff.
